Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. Our goal is to collect only what's necessary to operate Tworro effectively and respectfully.

1. What We Collect

When you create an account with Tworro, we collect the following:

Display name - used as a non-unique account identifier.
Username - used as a unique account identifier.
Email address - used for account access and essential service communications.
Password - used to keep your account secure. Passwords are encrypted.

We do not collect any other personal details. You may however choose to share additional data yourself while using the service (see the next section: What You Choose to Share).

2. What You Choose to Share

Tworro allows users to create, share, and communicate. Any information you choose to share is entirely up to you. We do not extract or collect any personal data from this content.

Similarly, if you contact our support team, you may provide additional information that we did not explicitly request. We handle any such information solely for the purpose of resolving your issue.

We do our best to provide tools that let you edit or delete your content at any time so you remain in control.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your account information to:

Create and manage your account.
Provide access to Tworro features.
Send essential communications (like login alerts and important updates).
Enable service functionality.

4. Communications

We may send you essential emails related to your account such as security alerts, feature updates, or service notices. These communications are necessary for account security and service integrity, and can't be turned off while your account is active.

Marketing emails will only be sent if you explicitly opt in, and you can unsubscribe from them at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

Tworro uses trusted third-party providers to help us deliver and protect the platform (e.g. for hosting, infrastructure, and content delivery). These partners are selected with data privacy in mind, and we only share what's necessary for them to perform their role.

6. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your account data will be removed after a 60-day grace period.

We routinely create backups of our systems to safeguard against data loss. These backups are retained for a limited period and are periodically overwritten with newer data. As a result, deleted information may remain in backup storage for the duration of the retention period before being permanently removed.

7. Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account at any time through the account management page. Once requested, your account is deactivated and scheduled for deletion after a 60-day grace period. During that time, you can still cancel the deletion if you change your mind.

Note that deleting your account only removes your account data (like your display name, username, email, and password). It does not automatically delete the content you've created. After deletion, your display name and username will be replaced with a generic label such as deleted_user.

If you do not want any of your content to remain visible, please delete it yourself before deleting your account. Any remaining content is subject to removal at our discretion.

8. Your Data, Your Control

We believe in giving you clear control over your data. You can:

View or update your account details.
Delete your account and associated personal data.
Contact us with any questions or requests through our contact page.

9. Security

We take data security seriously. Passwords are encrypted, access is limited to authorized personnel, and we actively monitor for unauthorized access or suspicious activity. We follow industry-standard practices to keep your information safe.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If significant changes are made, we'll notify you either via the website or by contacting you directly.
